Health care leaders offer tips for businesses picking plans. ATLANTIC CITY — South Jersey employers got together with health care officials Wednesday to look at some of the complex options when it comes to picking the right health plans for their workers.
The session was held days before a Dec. 15 federal deadline for consumers to choose their own health plans, which they may do in numbers that could exceed last year’s. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported Wednesday that 80,152 New Jersey residents had chosen new plans as of Dec. 5. The agency added that within 10 days of last year’s deadline, more than 20,000 new people had signed up.
But employer-provided plans were the focus of Wednesday’s session, “Navigating Changing Healthcare Environment: What Employers Need to Know,” hosted by AtlantiCare at Tropicana Casino and Resort.
