The 2023 GPBCH Annual Conference theme is “Driving Toward Value: Step on the Gas!” The conference brings together over 250 employers, healthcare stakeholders, industry and academic experts to discuss value and equity through benefit design, employee engagement, primary care, provider contracting, value-based contracting, digital healthcare solutions, and pharmacy benefits management. Featured speakers Mark Fendrick, Director of the University of Michigan V-BID Center, and Paul Fronstin, Director of Health Benefits Research for the Employee Benefits Research Institute will discuss the impact of out-of-pocket payments on consumer healthcare seeking behavior and outcomes. Subsequent sessions will tackle other pressing issues and opportunities for employers including fostering primary care and managing PBMs and the pharmaceutical budget. The Conference will conclude with a call to action for employers led by Mike Thompson, CEO of the National Alliance of Healthcare Purchaser Coalitions, and Neil Goldfarb, CEO of GPBCH. “With the worst of the pandemic behind us, it’s time for employers and the larger healthcare system to get back to implementing strategies that foster care access, quality, equity, value, and affordability; we hope Conference attendees will learn of practical solutions to expedite movement on this journey,” according to Mr. Goldfarb.
