The GPBCH Employer Symposia on Managing Cardiovascular & Musculoskeletal Conditions, held on March 26th, was a great success. With over 125 registrants and attendees, the day’s program was filled with valuable information and networking opportunities. Morning sessions covered important topics on cardiovascular health including, the changing landscape of cardiovascular disease, the role of primary care in prevention and early detection of heart disease, and how employers can manage the impact of cardiovascular disease through effective Plan Design to improve overall cardiovascular health in the workforce. Afternoon sessions focused on current trends in managing musculoskeletal conditions in the workplace and ended with a dynamic presentation from Dr. Nora Sandorfi, Professor of Clinical Medicine -Rheumatology at the University of Pennsylvania, discussing unique musculoskeletal health concerns for women in the workforce.
